About
About Kylie - Your counsellor at The Haven.
There are seasons in life where everything feels uncertain. In those moments, you deserve a space to soften.
My approach is person-centred and intuitive, allowing each session to unfold at your pace, guided by what feels most important to you. I hold space with care and intention, supporting you to explore your inner world, make sense of your experiences, and reconnect with a sense of clarity, strength, and emotional balance. My work is grounded not only in professional training, but in lived experiences. I am an Accredited Counsellor (Level 1) with the Australian Counselling Association, holding an AQF Level 5 qualification.
Based in North East Melbourne, I offer online counselling for women across the Nillumbik, Banyule, Manningham areas and nearby communities. While sessions are held online, this allows you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
To ensure I can offer the most supportive and appropriate care, my practice focuses on low to moderate support needs. I do not provide services related to alcohol and other drug (AOD) concerns, psychological assessments, or work with clients experiencing high-risk or crisis situations. Where needed, I am always happy to support you in finding the right referrals.
This work is not about fixing you — it is about supporting you as you come home to yourself.
You don’t have to navigate this alone.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Counselling at The Haven offers a calm, confidential space where you can feel truly heard and supported. Each session is guided by your needs, allowing you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace. Together, we work toward greater clarity, emotional wellbeing, and a deeper connection to your authentic self.
-
When you speak with loved ones, their responses are often shaped by their own experiences and emotional connection to you. They may want to protect you, offer advice, or fix things quickly — and sometimes, without meaning to, they can minimise your feelings or feel overwhelmed themselves.
A counsellor offers a neutral, non-judgmental and confidential space where the focus is entirely on you. Because they’re not part of your personal world, you can speak openly without worrying about how it might affect the relationship or be shared with others.
Rather than giving advice, a counsellor gently supports you to explore your thoughts and emotions more deeply — helping you understand patterns, gain clarity, and make sense of your experience.
-
My approach is person centred, compassionate, and tailored to each individual. I draw on evidence-based practices while also honouring the emotional, relational, and personal layers of your experience. This creates a space that feels both grounded and gently supportive.
-
I support women navigating a range of experiences, including relationship challenges, separation and divorce, dating, motherhood, fertility and IVF, pregnancy loss, family dynamics, career transitions, and life changes. Each experience is met with care, compassion, and respect for your unique story.
-
The Haven is a nurturing space designed to support women through relationship challenges, life transitions, and personal growth. If you’re seeking a calm, reflective environment to explore your experiences with care and guidance, this space may feel like the right fit.
There are, however, some areas of support that sit outside my scope of practice. I do not provide support for high-risk or acute mental health concerns, alcohol and other drug (AOD) work, or psychological assessments, diagnoses, or formal reports.
If you’re unsure, you are always welcome to reach out. I’m here to gently guide you toward the most appropriate support for your needs, whether that is within The Haven or beyond it.
-
I am based in North East Melbourne and support women across the Nillumbik, Banyule, and Manningham areas, including suburbs such as Eltham, Research, Greensborough, Heidelberg, Templestowe, Warrandyte, and surrounding communities.
I offer online counselling, which means you can access support from anywhere in Australia. Whether you’re located in Melbourne or elsewhere, sessions are held via secure video, allowing you to connect from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
If you are booking from outside of Victoria, please note that all appointments are scheduled in the Victorian (AEST/AEDT) timezone.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, uncertain, or simply in need of support, counselling can offer a space to make sense of what you’re experiencing. A complimentary 10-minute consultation is available to help you explore whether this feels like the right fit for you.
-
The Haven is not a crisis service. If you are experiencing immediate distress or require urgent care, I encourage you to connect with your GP, local mental health services, or emergency support services in your area, who are best placed to provide timely assistance.
-

The Haven is currently offering online sessions, providing flexibility and accessibility depending on your preference and location, with a view to expanding to in person sessions in the future.

This varies for each person. Some clients seek short-term support around a specific challenge, while others choose ongoing sessions for deeper exploration and continued personal growth. We will regularly check in to ensure the pace and approach feel right for you.
